Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy
I tried to alternate my reading experience from sci fi, fiction, etc.
Crazy Rich came to mind when i thought I want something fiction but a bit more based on life... And I picked of course the life of the rich.
It was an absolute blast reading all 3 of them books.
There was the movie of course, it helped with the visualization. It was nice to imagine things when you have some sort of a basis.
I surprisingly became a fan of Eddie Cheng's character, which is an absolute character. And I could imagine the same actor playing it too.
One thing in common, is that I loved how the food was detailed. I always felt hungry listening to/reading a paragraph about an omelet, the noodles, etc.. The author knows his food.
I saw book 2 as a sort of a side quest. It was still enjoyable, getting a peek of the life of the China rich. But I missed the original characters.
I felt so happy finishing book 2, because finally I can get to Book3, back to the Singapore nagging aunties, and just back to the crazy rich families that started it all.
I loved that the paragraphs are short, and there is always some sort of resolution not far behind. Cliff hangers are there, not annoying though because the next chapter is something you're looking forward to.
Don't forget the footnotes, comedic surprises as well in the footnotes!
All in all a very fun trilogy!
